Hiccup was a terrified, wild little mini mule when he was dropped off at our rescue in October 2015 by a well-meaning person who tried to help him. She quickly realized that Hiccup was much more than she could handle. He was about 7 years old then, and arrived here frightened out of his mind. We don’t know what his story is, or why he is so scared, but it is going to take years of patience and training before this little guy will ever really feel safe. He is gaining confidence and is responding to all our work, but it will take a long time for him to trust that nobody is going to hurt him. He can stay here as long as he needs to.
